Abarat

Anyone else out there read "Abarat" by Clive Barker?

It's an fabulous book, and the sequel, "Abarat: Days of Magic, Nights of War", came out just the other day.

I bought Abarat ages ago on a whim. The book intrigued me, and the beautiful bizarre illustrations all the way through it really caught my eye.

The book, I think, is a children's book but it is amazing. It's about a girl, Candy, who travels to the land of Abarat which has 25 islands and each island is a different hour of the day. The 24th island is ruled by an evil man named Christopher Carrion, who is plotting to take over the islands.

I do recommend it, and the sequel.
Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey-Maturin books are brilliant, I recommend them.

Just thought I'd share that with you. :-)
