12 weekends gone to LT and Maelstrom already, and it's not even Jan 1st yet.

Maelstrom

Jul. 11th, 2005 12:01 pm
Was good, although too bloody hot.

We spent most of our time sat in the shade unable to do much more than rp amongst ourselves. But regardless of that the Audacity is now paid for, and the real profit is rolling in. Woo! :)

Need to recruit more people though. The crew is looking a little thin on the ground in recent days, and I'd like more of us about. Especially as thing are going to get more interesting for us.

A good event. Roll on the next one. Which is in Cuffley! Woo!

Maelstrom

Oh - it's Maelstrom this weekend.

How odd. I mean I've known it was this weekend for ages, but it's kinda snuck on me regardless.

It's not that I'm not motivated, as I am looking forward to it, I want to see what happened in downtime etc, but I've just not thought about it too much. I think I've been too caught up in Call of Cthulhu plans (which are slowly coming together), to think about other stuff.

Am also gonna miss [livejournal.com profile] woodbrook at it (this is not designed to make you feel guilty Mindy, so stop it!). She's a big part of the event for me and it'll be odd without her there. Will also miss [livejournal.com profile] thewhitespider again, as his absense at the last event was noticed by all the Audacity crew.

Ah well, will have to make sure Sally acts as my IC morals and conscience coach for the weekend. :)

.... hang on....

It's Maelstrom this weekend!

Which means we're going tomorrow night!

Which means I have to pack everything tonight!

Which means I have to find everything tonight!

Aw crud....
.... can't wait to see next downtime return - the next three months promise to be really interesting ones, tee hee hee.

So Maelstrom....

... in a word... BRILLIANT!!!

This event was so much better than the previous three and I can't wait for the next one, really want to see my downtime report.

Bad points:

People not turning up and screwing everything up completely! ([livejournal.com profile] thewhitespider I don't mean you, you not being there was only a minor inconvience, whereas other absentees screwed up right royally!)

One long queue in GOD to find Gordon had been overruled and things became trickier.

That was it for the bad points I think.

Good points:

My downtime return was all good and Matt Pennington had made good on his promise to sort out the last minute hiccups, so the Alkyon colony had their food. I was quite amused by the fact that I got cut-pursed for 5 rials (this was in downtime), the aggravation from that faded quite quickly when new aggravation replaced it.

Guarding a slave auction was never going to be the best of jobs for me, but I managed to do it without stabbing any of the bidders, but did end up buying two slaves. Going to put them to work (fully paid) on ship for a year, at the end of that time they can either continue to work for me or go on with their lives.

Had drunken conversation with sister (she was sober, I was drunk), which although I was also drunk for I was playing it worse IC.

Went to a wedding. Saw a hanging. Avoided getting married on Hitchin' Day.

Had to kick a group member out for piracy, and take back their ship.

Made another large payment on the Audacity, and reckon it'll be ours again by the end of the third event this year.

Watched [livejournal.com profile] indykid drink a potion as his punishment for striking down [livejournal.com profile] kheeram. Missed [livejournal.com profile] kheeram drinking his, thankfully. After the amount he and I had drunk the night before I am glad I didn't get one as well.
Have come to the conclusion only one of us ever gets a hangover when we go out drinking. Still Kurt Michaels and Taff Dan's manservant were very funny.

Oh and don't mixed Archers and Ginger Whiskey together in mouth then gargle.... it causes an interesting burning sensation on the way down.

All good. Can't wait for next one.
... right, I finally have all the shipping details for Sacuza sorted and the orders have gone out.

All that I need to do now is sort out my own bit of it (getting all the permissions etc), and answer any questions that might arise out of the order's I doled out.

Hope that there aren't too many.

[livejournal.com profile] thewhitespider we're off to Alkyon, then to Flambard, so we should be able to go as a Fleet.
... and because boss has gone home early, here are my Maelstrom low and high points. Best I do them now, before I go to Slasher and want to froth about that. :-)

Low points:

Will do these first as there are only two.

My kit being soaked. My bag ended up in a puddle and all my kit got soaked when the suede trousers sucked up the water. Luckily my pirate trousers and a bodice survived. I bought a shift from HCC and was sorted. :-)

Standing in GOD for 2 1/2 hours waiting for Matt P to sort out lammies. Not really a low point, just got bored. Was waiting for 51 lammies and Matt get getting asked stuff by everyone, so was bound to be a delay - this is not a bitch as I was still fine and happy. :-)

High points:

If you want me to expand on any of them just ask, am more than happy to froth. :-D

The lead up to the Court Martial (not mine, but someone in my crew), especially hearing I'd hired mercenaries (why one earth would I when a) they cost money and b) I have a loyal crew!), the trial itself and the aftermath of it.

Trying hard to sort out shipping and coming to the realisation that there was no way I could get out of having to do a run myself this time around.

Putting my foot down about slaves and then getting shouted out, then
forgiven for it all in the space of one bizarre conversation, and the
coversation Ciaran and I had after that.

Singing the pirate song repeatedly on Saturday night. (Hula wacka!)

Hanging out with Captain Jones's crew and feeling like a bunch of old
cronies :-).

Chatting with my little sis.

Having Lord Cyril Grey hang out with us incognito, and having people slag off nobles around him without knowing.

Chats with Isobel, whilst rather drunk.

The visit to the Smith church with Ciaran.

Coffee house visits for cake and tea.

Watching the wasps supplication from a distance.

Freaking out about missing crew members :-)

Getting together all that cash for the Audacity.

Oh and finding out OOC that I had been slagged off by a bunch of nobles at Grey's Social Club and had Ciaran in a dilemma about what to do about it.

All very cool and I so wish the next event was closer than 6 months away.
.... Wow! )
.... I really am now!

Dan and I went to Greenwich yesterday which was most enjoyable, we went to the National Maritime Museum, the Royal Observatory and to the Cutty Sark.

The Cutty Sark was fab, and I was feeling most childish stood on the main deck thinking about Maelstrom. I do not care if that makes me a sad muppet, I am a happy sad muppet.

The museum was very cool, but I would like to go again and spend a bit more time there than we did yesterday. We went to the Cutty Sark first and spent quite a while there so we had to rush to get both the Museum and the Observatory done.

Observatory was good as I have never seen the meridian line before, the only drawback of it was the fact that the path to it is up that steep hill, I thought I was going to die before I reached the top of it.

Oh and Dan bought me a cuddly penguin from the Museum shop. So it was a very good day. :-)
Pub was fun last night, got rather merry and did froth a bit - I remember telling blokes that they should join my crew as most of us were women, also repeadtly told James Crollie that he should come and be a pirate for me as he had the right hair. Being drunk is great!

Headache this morning and pathetic feeling rest of today not so great.

Ebay

Feb. 17th, 2004 05:53 pm
I was recently enticed into looking at Ebay (Damn you [livejournal.com profile] woodbrook!), and despite experience both the highs of winning and the lows of losing by a £1, I have so far managed to get some stuff that will make good Maelstrom kit.

Good thing really considering my coat is costing me £245.

Damn new LRP systems... I am going to be sooo broke.

Enthused

Feb. 9th, 2004 04:49 pm
I am all enthused, and it feels great.

It's been ages since I've been really enthused by something LRP related but this past weekend has made me really happy in regard to Maelstrom.

Am so looking forward to this, despite how bankrupt I know it's going to make me whiat with the buying of all new kit.
