Weekend

Jan. 16th, 2006 10:22 am
My car got clamped last night. Was most annoying, but sadly accurate. Didn't have any cash in my account to cover it, so a huge thanks to Neill and Paul for helping out.

Star Wars was good fun, next one should be interesting, need to find out if Darren and Elle are going to be there before I can say if I am going - unless I get ordered from on high to be so.

Weekend was ok, Friday night I was knackered and that carried over to most of Saturday, spent Saturday night playing boardgames with Linda, Sarah and Marc, then Sunday daytime we went to 'Collectors World'.
An odd place in which an old rich, eccentric has stored all the stuff he's collected over the years - including the world's largest collection of tie pins and padlocks. He also had Little Nelly from the James Bond film. Very odd.

Bloody hell.

What an absolutely spiffing event.

I survived, didn't "win" but that didn't matter as I have never had so much fun!

I hurt all over, I can't stop talking like a toff and have to stop myself from calling people 'dahling', and am shattered, but am so happy.

Got home far to late to do a write up, will attempt one later, but work is promising to be a bastard today, and I have to go to my Dad's tonight.

Woot! I want to do it again!

Harts Event

Aug. 1st, 2005 09:54 am
Well that was a lot of fun.

It started out a bit confusing, but then hit a high point and kept on going. Am exhausted.

Will try and write more at some stage, but too sleepy now (an technically should do some work).

....

Oh and Dan finds out if he's being offered the Bristol job today.

Maelstrom

Was good, although too bloody hot.

We spent most of our time sat in the shade unable to do much more than rp amongst ourselves. But regardless of that the Audacity is now paid for, and the real profit is rolling in. Woo! :)

Need to recruit more people though. The crew is looking a little thin on the ground in recent days, and I'd like more of us about. Especially as thing are going to get more interesting for us.

A good event. Roll on the next one. Which is in Cuffley! Woo!
waywardh: (pengie)
.... actually it doesn't. It's just finished (*sob*), but in the effort to kid myself that I'm not back at work I'll bibble on about it here.

Friday's trip around the Galaxy )

Saturday = Preperation, Preperation, Preperation & Daleks )

Sunday = Pre Game Jitters )

It's a holiday in Carcosa, where people dress in yellow! * )

Monday = A trip to Dad's* )

So yes, a good weekend. Shame it's over.
... just ate my entry about Q&C.

Am so sleepy, but will try and write it again.

It was a fantastic event - and that's an understatment.

It was really good, and my utmost thanks to all the players, monsters, refs etc who made it that way.

The plot was interesting all round, and I think I understood most of it, but it was really nice to have it all recapped by [livejournal.com profile] kheeram at the end.

Am glad to have survived it, as it means I can take George to the main events, which I am now really looking forward to. Must also book for July event.

Am such a LRP junkie. :-D

So yes, fab weekend, fab friends, fab time.

So Maelstrom....

... in a word... BRILLIANT!!!

This event was so much better than the previous three and I can't wait for the next one, really want to see my downtime report.

Bad points:

People not turning up and screwing everything up completely! ([livejournal.com profile] thewhitespider I don't mean you, you not being there was only a minor inconvience, whereas other absentees screwed up right royally!)

One long queue in GOD to find Gordon had been overruled and things became trickier.

That was it for the bad points I think.

Good points:

My downtime return was all good and Matt Pennington had made good on his promise to sort out the last minute hiccups, so the Alkyon colony had their food. I was quite amused by the fact that I got cut-pursed for 5 rials (this was in downtime), the aggravation from that faded quite quickly when new aggravation replaced it.

Guarding a slave auction was never going to be the best of jobs for me, but I managed to do it without stabbing any of the bidders, but did end up buying two slaves. Going to put them to work (fully paid) on ship for a year, at the end of that time they can either continue to work for me or go on with their lives.

Had drunken conversation with sister (she was sober, I was drunk), which although I was also drunk for I was playing it worse IC.

Went to a wedding. Saw a hanging. Avoided getting married on Hitchin' Day.

Had to kick a group member out for piracy, and take back their ship.

Made another large payment on the Audacity, and reckon it'll be ours again by the end of the third event this year.

Watched [livejournal.com profile] indykid drink a potion as his punishment for striking down [livejournal.com profile] kheeram. Missed [livejournal.com profile] kheeram drinking his, thankfully. After the amount he and I had drunk the night before I am glad I didn't get one as well.
Have come to the conclusion only one of us ever gets a hangover when we go out drinking. Still Kurt Michaels and Taff Dan's manservant were very funny.

Oh and don't mixed Archers and Ginger Whiskey together in mouth then gargle.... it causes an interesting burning sensation on the way down.

All good. Can't wait for next one.

Weekend

Mar. 21st, 2005 11:52 am
Was pretty good.

On Saturday Dan and I went out to lunch in a nice pub, then for a long walk around the nearby woods. Returned home quite tired, so vegged on sofa and watched The Incredibles. After that I managed to fall asleep on sofa, then woke up and played some CoH.

Sunday I also managed to play CoH - for 5 hours! Have become such an addict it's terrible. But game so good.

Then did X-Men stuff, oh and booked for Capt. Dick Britton and the Voice of the Seraph. Dan and I have plumped for Starring Roles as it sounds fab.

See here: http://www.crookedhouse.org/ for more details.

Weekend

Mar. 8th, 2005 10:01 am
Well my weekend was certainly action packed.

Friday night started off a bit more subdued but was still loads of fun. [livejournal.com profile] woodbrook and I were super-nerds and watched X-Men and X2 back to back. Most fun.

Then on Saturday I tootled up to Solihul to see dearest cousin [livejournal.com profile] elthorn. He and I collected [livejournal.com profile] uncanic then went on a shopping trip around Birmingham. Managed to reign in the spending to a minimum, but did buy some X-Men stuff (see, am complete nerd).

Then Chris and I went back to Solihull to put Jeep to bed, then hopped on a train back to Brum centre. Went to a pub called the Gallows, where we were joined by [livejournal.com profile] evil_chalkie, Sharon and various others.

About 10ish we went next door to a club called Edwards, where I proceeded to jump around the dance floor like a mad eegit until about 1.45am

Chris and I eventually departed said club and tried to get a taxi, we failed at doing that so Chris phoned his Dad who had offered to come get us if need be. Got back to Solihull, ate chips, drank 2 pints of water and eventually fell asleep around 4.30am.

Woke up very stiff and achey at 11.30 ish the next day. No hangover, just very tired.

Went out to lunch with, Chris, Nic, Dena, Sharon and her son, then eventually headed back home content that I'd had a good weekend....

.....

.... then the exhaust fell off the car as I was driving down the M1.

Not good.

Pulled over to hard shoulder, not entirely sure where I was, with the exhaust hanging off the back of the car at a bizarre angle. So I phoned the AA. Became High Priority due to being a girl and alone.

Bugger me I was terrified. It was getting v dark, I was freezing, and all alone. So phoned home and proceeded to chat to everyone there to try and calm down. AA man turned up 25mins after calling which was good.

He pulled the loose exhaust off and had a look at car. Luckily it was drivable, but noisy as hell. So I once again resumed driving home. Rejoining the motorway from the hard shoulder was an experience too.

Got home an hour later than intended, knackered and miserable. Still decided to go to Dan's mums and went out to dinner with Dan, Ann and Andrew. Nearly fell asleep in curry.

Got home, went to bed. Got up Monday, still fuming so phoned up boss and asked for day's holiday, which he approved.

Now back at work and feeling better.

Another bloody mother's day over and done with, but still enjoyed the rest of the weekend massively up to that point. I will have to go again.

Oathsnight

Feb. 13th, 2005 01:00 pm
Helen really enjoyed it, George didn't. At all.

Started off well, with a good group meeting, then went rapidly downhill, despite a couple of pick-me-ups in the forms of learning a bit more demonology stuff and being asked to be a maid of honour and plan a hen night.

But they failed dismally in bringing me out of the slump that was predicting the deaths of someone's entire family, facing the possibility of loosing my brother in a year and a day, and then finding out that people think you are a murderer.

*sigh*

[livejournal.com profile] nortysarah, Imogen throws the worst parties ever! ;-)

Weekend.

Jan. 24th, 2005 09:42 am
Good weekend.

Dan and I went round Camden on Saturday and I got some kit sorted for SO (which reminds me I really need to e-mail Kol and check it's ok for me to go). I think Dan was quite pleased that I am not a stereotypical girl and didn't feel the need to spend an hour in every shop trying things on etc.

We also popped along to the British Museum so that I could see the Mummys.

Managed to buy 2 X-Men comic collections and a large poster also.

Got back home with a headache so went to bed for a couple of hours, then we headed off to Jason and Carrie's Burns Night do. Which was v nice, not too manic which was good as I wasn't feel A1. Ate lots of haggis, which was lovely, have never had it before.

Sunday we pootled around, clean forgot to take the Xmas tree to the dump again, and then went out to Dan's Mum's for dinner.

Hair is still black, and looks fab. :-)

Back at work now though.... *sigh*

Appraisals this week..... *joy*

GOO

Oct. 25th, 2004 09:02 am
Harts events was brilliant. I had a fab time and really enjoyed it (even if I did twist my ankle on the Sunday).

A massive thank you to all the NPC's, organisers, monsters, players (especially the members of Hwyt Draga who went), for allowing me to have another fun time playing with the Harts.

I'll probably write more, once I've finished my Slaser write up, which I am doing today.

Weekend...

Aug. 23rd, 2004 01:11 pm
... was meant to be spent doing lots of Gathering related stuff, but instead I did the following:

Friday - Played Changeling in the evening, was lots of fun. Amanda helped paint me blue so I could play my quiet, stuttering 8ft Troll. I had a lot of fun, got to swear an Oath which I will no doubt regret later on, but hey what the heck. :-)

Just hoping I can continue to go, got feeling that due to other LRP commitments I won't be able to make the next two. :-(

Saturday - I slept in really late, which I didn't mean to do, but then we went for a wander into town, and I bought us both lunch. Over lunch the subject of good sea food cam up and we randomly decided that we'd go to Cromer on Sunday so we could get some.

Did do some LT stuff later on, then Lex, Slow Dave and Psycho Neill came round, which then distracted me onto other LT related stuff.

Sunday - Dan and I headed off to Cromer, getting there for lunchtime. Had Cromer crab to eat because it is heavenly.
We went for a wander along, the beach, had a paddle in the sea, bought cockles, muscles and some more crab. Also bought sweeties for people.
One way home we called in at my Dad's for tea, then finally got home about 9ish.

Was a good weekend. :-)
What a fab weekend! Am still so tired and achy, but so happy too.

I had sooooo much fun.

Dan and I had Friday off, which was spent frantically tidying the house in preparation for the fact we were to be having loads of people sleep on our living room floor. Then we went to Tesco and bought all the BBQ meat we could fit in our fridge.

When we got back we finished tidying (hiding stuff in places to make it look tidy) and the waited around for people to turn up.

[livejournal.com profile] gsw arrived first, after spending 20mins or so ringing the doorbell of 14 Cobmead, as opposed to 14 Strawmead where we actually live. Followed by [livejournal.com profile] woodbrook, [livejournal.com profile] silks_ic, [livejournal.com profile] snoj, [livejournal.com profile] fourmyle and Andy Kendall (sans LJ I believe?), not necessarily in that order.

We stayed up chatting in the garden until about 3.30am before turning in in anticipation of the next day’s activities.

Quite typically I couldn’t sleep. Was far too hyped up about the fact it was my birthday and that we were going to London Zoo to see Penguins! Yes I am aware that the Zoo has other animals, but none that are as important as penguins!

Eventually though a group of us headed off into London, some choosing to go and shop in Camden while the rest of us went to the zoo. Well not long after getting in I was stood in front of the Penguins, unable to move due to happiness of seeing Penguins. They were sooooo cute!

Then the embarrassment started, the Keeper asked the audience where Helen, who was celebrating her 25th birthday was. Of course I had to wave to everyone, and then tried to find out which of my friends I had to kill…. [livejournal.com profile] snoj was the culprit, but the need to kill her quickly was replaced by euphoria when I discovered she had arranged for me to go in the enclosure with the Penguins.

It was amazing! Everyone assumed I had touched a penguin before but I hadn’t. I was just so overcome with happiness it was silly. One stood on my foot for ages, whilst another pecked my knee (wish I could keep the bruise!), they are just so soft, like cuddly toys, and so lovely.

I couldn’t stop smiling for ages, my face actually started to hurt. Still smiling about it actually.

Eventually though we had to head back to Hatfield so I could be at the hall for 7.30 to pick up the key. Getting back home we found [livejournal.com profile] kheeram, [livejournal.com profile] overload74, Neill (sans LJ) and others waiting for us. A water pistol fight broke out, both inside and outside of the house.

Went over to the hall, and everyone else arrived shortly after. There was loads of us, I am told at least 50, most outside due to it being way too hot. I got drunk… very very drunk, but had a fab time dancing to music and socialising. Got sung to by everyone, and given cake. Got many cool pressies too, and was still on my Penguin high.

Oh and for those who couldn’t remember, we did the Conga to Firestarter.

Was so drunk by end that seeing had become an issue, as had shoes. Tried to stay awake when I got home but just couldn’t, so after taking out my contact lenses I passed out on my bed.

Apparently I drunk two pints of water before going to bed, and had another pint whilst in bed, although I did pour some of that over my head due to it being too hot, then another 2 when I got up which may explain why I didn’t have too bad a hangover.

Loads of us pilled over to McDonalds for breakfast, then came back home to wait until we were hungry enough to start the BBQ. Sunday was very hot, and so a number of us hid in the house where it was cooler, and others tried to find the remaining shade in the garden.

Much frothing and the eating of BBQ meat followed until eventually people started to drift back to their various homes.

I went to bed at 9.40pm that night, as was so tired.

It was such a great weekend though. Thanks to everyone who came, I had a fantastic time, and it was great to see everyone.

It’s a birthday I’m not going to forget.

Moot two...

Jul. 5th, 2004 02:04 pm
....... I had such a good time.

I actually enjoyed all the event, obviously some bits more than others, but it feels very good to finally have figured out what I am doing.

Elani/NPC Highlights include:

The meeting with Welfare Friday morning.

Several things I can't discuss on here, due to being Guild Plot related, but I do hope those people it affected had fun too.

Being knocked out by Hope due to being enthalled by what looked like a member of my family.

Playing dead in a heap with [livejournal.com profile] sdar,[livejournal.com profile] snoj and others when we were surrounded by monsters.

Double-teaming with the Blodwyn when there was far too much decay going on.

Ermmmm, am sure there is more, but can't remember them all now.

George Highlights:

Finally using some spell cards

Finding out exactly how much trouble a single white rose can cause

Being the mad little sister chaperoned by the mad story fae

Going in the casino for the first time (not the first time for some of the others I was with!), and finishing with twice we started with.

Being convinced to play DALD instead of monster.

Bad influencing, scheming, and coming to an understanding. The eventual convincing is going to be interesting too.

And again, am sure there is more, but am still very tired.

Bad points - stupid peppers, stupid allergy.

We got home a bit after nine, which was pretty good going, but the having to get up early this morning hasn't helped. Stupid work.
