Another one done. 7th one done, third one as an NPC.
I still love LT though, don't get me wrong. Yeah there's problems with the system, yeah I may be disatisfied with a number of things, but I still love to play.
How the Gathering went though... well it was different. It wasn't nearly as hard as last year's (thanks to everyone in Hwyt Draga and in the Harts for providing the stress relief) but it was more trying in others. I didn't have any player stress to deal with, but there were a couple of plot stress moments. The "no combat in the Guild tent" made things rather tricky for us and we had to pull a number of plot encounters. Our courtyard was much larger than the main tent area but we still weren't allowed to run combat in there. Which I understand, it shouldn't be one rule for one, one rule for another. It didn't stop other people running stuff in there though.
Was a shame for us as I wanted to further the Gardener plot line, but it did mean we concentrated on the Elvas plot line. So hopefully everything is now in place for the October event.
Was quite an ego trip I have to admit seeing people stress about Xavin, Elthorn and Elani being kidnapped.
Other good points... oh doing the voices of Shadran and the other cultists performing the Satun rite while having Craig shout at me.
Wheeling out the Quin encounter and watching all hell break loose.
Playing Snake is always a laugh, especially when Bear is around too.
Being given chocolate cake by Zhedan and the other Vipers.
Down points: Well I'm not going to go into too much detail as there's a danger I'd rant, but there were some hiccups.
Potions. Despite us thinking they'd all been sorted this year (eventually) we got to the battlefield only to nearly have them taken off of us due to the fact they were printed on photocopies or completely invalid paper. I started waving my red wrist band at that point and pointed out that I had made three of them myself. It came down to them letting us use them as we'd made them, but Jim was rather stressed at the Office which I can appreciate.
Oh also my apologies to
plucky_lass, we'll get the "thing" sorted for you for October. :-D
If there were other downers I can't rememeber them right now, or this isn't the place to talk about them.
So that was the NPC side of things... now for the secondary side...
BRILLIANT!
I had so much fun in the Harts. So many good roleplay moments, that range from "being told where babies come" to "trying to stab up Vaspasion".
Cheers to everyone in Hwyt Draga, you helped keep the NPC stress from descending on me too much.
(Shameless plug! "Tipping the Scales" Healers Guild October event - 29th-31st October, Cuffley Outdoor Centre, Herts. We need players and monsters! See http://www.geocities.com/waddle_thepenguin/scales.html for more details or e-mail healersguildevents@postmaster.co.uk)
